The CS2 Major Shanghai 2024, officially named the Perfect World Shanghai Major, is the grand finale of the Counter-Strike 2 esports season, taking place from November 30 to December 15, 2024. Hosted in Shanghai, China, this event is poised to showcase the pinnacle of competitive Counter-Strike with a massive $1,250,000 prize pool and global fanfare.

Tournament Format

1. Opening Stage (Nov 30 - Dec 4):

   • 16 teams will battle in a Swiss-system format featuring both Bo1 and Bo3 matches.
   • The top 8 teams advance to the Elimination Stage.

2. Elimination Stage (Dec 5 - Dec 8):

   • Pre-qualified teams join the advancing 8 from the Opening Stage.
   • Another Swiss-system phase will determine the 8 playoff contenders.

3. Playoffs (Dec 12 - Dec 15):

   • A single-elimination bracket where teams compete in Bo3 matches.
   • Culminates in a grand final on December 15, where the champion is crowned.
